I'm Shaun - known locally as 'the sax guy.' I'm a proud dad, fiancé and self employed musician from Stockport - a self proclaimed music lover.
I am the DJ, the editor, the email replier, the Instagram poster, everything you see behind SBDJ Services is me, trying my best and absolutely loving the journey with the love and support from my fiancé Lauren, son Ted, and frenchie Bruce!
I feel like I work well under pressure, I think I probably do that better - which is why the stress of performing comes naturally. I absolutely love my job. Even without the qualifications and awards, I'd still feel as though I'm beating life by doing a job that involves celebrating the best day of customers lives!
I'll be in touch periodically throughout your booking journey. Not like a stalker, but just there in the background to answer any questions, offer support where necessary, and give advice and guidance to keep your minds at ease.
Each booking is individually contracted and signed off by everyone involved. There's no hidden costs, random or unexpected changes. Your booking only changes if you ask for it, and you'll receive a revised contract to confirm.
I'll handle your whole entertainment booking, all under a single contract and invoice. You'll only have one payment to worry about, and I'll take care of all of the logistics and administration required for your whole booking.

Wow! Unbelievable DJ and our wedding reception was not one to forget thanks to Shaun! We were anxious about choosing a DJ for our wedding reception, as we wanted somebody who understood our ‘vibe’ and would keep people on the dance floor all night. Shaun did exactly that and more! The booking process was thorough and informative from Shaun. Our wedding reception was a huge hit with everybody complementing how fantastic Shaun’s set was and how much of a nice guy he is! Shaun even surprised us all with a saxophone set, during the reception, that was one of the highlights of our wedding and everybody was in awe at his talent! We also hired the photo booth which Shaun offered as part of the package! This again was professionally ran by Shaun’s dad, who was a great guy! We were offered a selection of backdrops, props and unlimited personalised photo print outs. Shaun’s dad John also took charge of the guest book and ensured that everybody that had a photo signed the book. We must say a huge thank you to both Shaun and John. The biggest compliment we could give is that they felt like friends attending our wedding!
After speaking to Shaun for 5 minutes before booking I knew he was gonna be fab but I wasn't quite prepared for what he delivered. He managed to keep the groom on the dance floor for 6 hours, happily took on any requests from our guests and played so many bangers that I ended up in minor injuries from dancing too vigorously in my heels. The sax was just another added bonus which everybody loved. A pleasure to work with, all around great guy, top DJ and musician. 10/10 would recommend to absolutely everyone.
We would highly recommend Shaun. He was amazing from start to finish. He kept us organised and the meetings were so easy to arrange. The music kept our dance floor full all night and all our guests loved the music choices. The best part about the package is the photos and video he captures of your night on the dance floor, it is a lovely touch and I can’t stop watching it back! From the moment we met Shaun we knew he was the DJ for our wedding! His music taste matched ours and he instinctively knew exactly what we wanted. We made a few "slightly unusual" requests to make our day go our way and nothing phased him! Also, the extra touches like adding musicians, the photo booth (complete with his dad!) and him pulling a sax out of seemingly nowhere mid-set just made the day go fantastically! Don't think the dance floor was empty all night! Not only that but he was there for the whole day (over 12 hours!) and for a great price. We could not fault him, 100% recommend and infact other family members have booked him for their events.
The perfect addition to our wedding day, Shaun was absolutely amazing, taking photos and even busting out the saxophone for us!!
Yes. For most package bookings, a simple 20% deposit is taken, as well as a signature on our contract to let us know that you're committed to the booking as much as we are! For more complex high value bookings, a 25% deposit may be requested to secure my attendance. You will be made aware of this from the outset, and the online payment methods are really simple to use.
I'm happy to travel where ever my work takes me. Unless included in your package, a standard fuel charge is added to any booking at 55p per mile, as well as £10.80 per hour (pro-rata) for journeys longer than 1 hour.
Firstly, I'm really laid back. It's all about you, and I'm happy to adapt my style to suit your day and your personality. I'm not overly talkative on the microphone, and it's all about the music - nobody really cares who sang the last song or what year it came out!
That's simple: just get in touch! I refuse to take any money, or process a booking before I've had the opportunity to introduce myself and my services personally, whether that be via phone, email or even an in-person meeting. I also run our sister company, The Groove which allows you to book other DJ's and entertainers through our system.
Yes! I carry all of the relevant documentation that your venue may request. This includes PAT Test Certificates, Public Liability Insurance up to the value of £5 Million, as well as Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Of course. Your initial deposit will remain valid, and secures your whole booking with me. If you choose to add any additional add-ons, I'll simply send out a new contract for you to sign with the amended information.
